Position offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus (applicable to external hire or an internal hire with an increase in level)
Provide a psychiatric nursing service which includes assessment, treatment planning, administering, monitoring and delivering medications, providing medication/illness education, and providing laboratory services where indicated.
Position will also provide additional skilled nursing functions as needed in crisis stabilization/medically managed withdrawal setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide ongoing assessment of symptoms and assist individuals in meeting treatment goals and objectives as related to individual's assessed level of need.
Provide nursing interventions such as coordinating lab work, medication/illness education, administering medications, referral, monitoring consumer progress, adverse side effects, and triaging.
Provide on-site support to medical providers, including scheduling, checking vital signs, and coordinating follow-up visits as needed.
Maintain medication storage areas in compliance with Mount Rogers CSB procedures, licensure, and State Aftercare Pharmacy regulations.
Document nursing activities in the individual's record, and keep all records up-to-date according to established policies/procedures.
Attend and participate in meetings such as clinical staffing, business meetings, and nurses' meetings as requested.
Keep mandatory training up-to-date.
Provide community education and consultation services when needed.
Assist and consult with medical providers regarding scheduling, orders, and individual's status.
Will provide support to individuals, either individually or as a group, related to various health related issues including but not limited to: Healthy nutrition, diabetes education, diagnosis education, medication education, sleep hygiene, medically managed withdrawal, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of broad range of treatment modalities.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Experience working in a Behavioral Health setting is helpful.
Skills in recording, interviewing, assessing, decision making, and treatment planning
Knowledge of psychotropic medications, indications, and contraindications
Ability to multi-task
Minimum Requirements
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Current, valid, and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (Virginia or multi-state) required with 2-3 years’ experience in providing nursing service required.
