The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the successful management and care coordination of their assigned patient population.
Universal Health provides training, shadowing opportunities and Medical Director oversight to ensure all Nurse Practitioners are prepared and supported with the resources necessary to meet the needs of their patients.

Duties/Responsibilities
Coordinate and provide exceptional and appropriate care to patients.
Communicate with nursing staff and collaborating physician as well as Director of Nursing (DON) regarding patient care.
Provide outstanding customer service and excellent communication skills.
Provide services as requested by UHC or as required by bylaws, policies, rules or regulations of UHC or any hospital or other health care facility in which you have privileges.
Keep and maintain appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered and shall attend to all billing reports, claims and correspondence required, including supporting notes and charts in connection with services.
Make patient rounds, contribute to the decisions for daily care, writing orders, facilitating, and coordinating the scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic test and procedures.
Communicate with nursing staff and collaborating physician / specialist regarding patient.
Chart daily visit notes in an electronic medical record in a timely fashion.
Dictation services available.

Education and Experience
Minimum one year of experience preferred.
Nursing experience in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, ICU, Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, or General Practice preferred.
Current Virginia Medical License and unencumbered DEA License, required.
