gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties New River Health District is seeking an experienced administrative professional to join its dynamic team of public heath support staff.
The Program Support Technician for Fiscal Services will serve in a support role by keying fiscal transactions, approving deposits, processing revenue refunds, researching client billing denials, voiding payments, creating community events in WebVISION, handling record destruction according to the Library of Virginia schedule, some fiscal reporting, etc.
The position will serve in a back-up role to other accounts receivable and accounts payable staff by pulling insurance remits, performing administrative functions in WebVISION, answering questions regarding deposits and other fiscal processes, etc.
The position may also be, at times, asked to provide office coverage due to office services staff absences.
Office coverage duties may include answering phones, scheduling client appointments, taking payments, preparing deposits, etc.
This is not a supervisory role; however, the position may be asked to provide insight into performance and/or development needs for other administrative staff.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and/or experience in fiscal and administrative functions with preference for this experience in a medical office or health department setting.
Independently performs technical office tasks in support of a single program area regularly requiring application of policy and procedures.
Characteristic activities: Serves as contact and information resource for one or more programs, may perform eligibility determinations for all services available in health programs; serves as lead worker to direct, advise and train others; designs and directs workflow processes; researches and processes claims; collects data and prepares reports on program activities.
May provide performance input regarding staff, to appropriate supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications • Knowledge of medical office procedures, computer and software technology, medical terminology, use of policies & procedures and customer service; • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, orally and written; • Strong organizational skills and experience with software applications and Microsoft Office products (i.
e.
WORD, EXCEL, and database entry) and general office equipment (copier, fax, calculator); • Ability and experience with setting up and maintaining files & manuals • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to follow and apply established procedures and applicable policies Additional Considerations • Coursework in Medical Terminology • Experience of fiscal processes, such as preparing deposits, billing, etc.
