IT Application Support Analyst

Our team in Space & Defense is looking for an IT Application Support Analyst to join the Blacksburg, Virginia team.
You will report to the IT Application Support Manager and will have a remote work schedule.
To be considered for the IT Application Support Analyst, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related IT field or an associate degree in computer science or related IT field with 8 years application support experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience using Windows PowerShell to manage systems and automate common support tasks.
Experience maintaining applications in IIS and Tomcat Experience with basic network security using Active Directory Microsoft Server, Visual Studio, Word, Excel As an IT Application Support Analyst, you will: Be responsible for provisioning and maintaining Windows application servers, deploying and maintaining purchased and in-house developed applications and databases, provide tier 2 technical support, and granting and removing access while maintaining policy and audit compliance.
This includes: Defining, sizing, configuring, and document Windows application servers to support business applications in all supported environments.
Deploy and document applications, both off-the-shelf and in-house developed, on-premise and cloud-based.
Provide operational support for deployed applications.
Maintain test, development and production environments.
Support and perform release processes, from development through to production.
Maintain approved access to test and production environments.
Maintain change documentation in compliance with policy and audit requirements.
Work with IIS, Tomcat, Active Directory and DNS and use Windows PowerShell You will also be responsible for: Planning and organizing - able to think ahead in order to establish an efficient and appropriate course of action for self and others.
Prioritizes and plans activities considering all the relevant issues and factors such as deadlines, staffing and resources.
Communication - able to present information effectively by adopting a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and the nature of the information.
