We want your knowledge and expertise! Job Summary and Qualifications What you will do in this role: Performs/documents consultation for normal and complex lactation patients.
Consults and coordinates care with physicians and/or midwife.
Serves a resource for breastfeeding information to patients, community, nursing staff and physicians.
Responsible for professional self-development.
Communicates effectively and professionally with peers, supervisors, ancillary departments and all other external/internal customers.
Coordinates patient education courses and support groups for the community (Toddler Talk & Mom’s talk) Coordinates and works closely with director of unit, nursing staff and other lactation consultants to maintain Baby Friendly designation.
What qualifications you will need: Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date Intl Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) LewisGale Hospital Montgomery has provided quality healthcare services since 1910.
