We are seeking a(an) Office Systems Specialist for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care.

We want you to apply! Job Summary and Qualifications Accurately schedule patient/physician consults, nurse visits, simulation visits, daily treatment visits on the daily electronic/paper schedule.
All patients should be appropriately scheduled on the correct doctor day.
Obtains all required patient information and medical history data prior to appointment.
Includes surgery, follow up, radiology, and any lab procedures.
Surgery appointment must be coordinated with the appropriate physician.
Perform necessary registration procedures for all outpatients requiring care at the cancer center for both Radiation and Med Oncology.
Obtains insurance preauthorization of procedures ordered by the radiation oncologists prior to the patients’ appointment.
Accurately files patient records in the appropriate patient record as well as filing the chart in the appropriate location in the medical record room located in Radiation Oncology.
When appropriate sends medical records to be microfilmed.
Process must be timely and consistently performed.
Conducts department phone communication.
Receives, places and transfers calls as well as answers telephone inquiries from physicians, hospital departments or outside sources using appropriate telephone etiquette.
Ensures that inpatients are transported according to schedule.
Transports patients to radiology, lab, exam room and to other areas of the hospital as needed.
Ensure all rooms including exam rooms, simulation, and treatment are appropriately stocked by checking with the appropriate staff member working in that area.
Ensure urologists have the appropriate marking equipment on hand prior to a patient’s IMRT treatment planning.
Able to perform policy modifications and or departmental form modification.
Understands how the policy approval process works and is able to use this process.
Provides backup for any payroll function.
Reviews and makes modifications to the daily staff schedule as appropriate.
Has foresight to staff areas correctly before any problems occur.
Secretarial/Clerical experience is required.
Hours: This is a part-time dayshift position.
this role is about 3-4 days a week, 8 hour shifts.
