Unlock your potential at LewisGale Hospital Pulaski! Job Summary and Qualifications Performs data collection of patient’s history and physical condition for communication to anesthesiologist and surgeons.
Orders labs, x-rays, and any other evaluative study to assure patient’s stability for surgery using algorithms established by the Medical Staff.
Assures H&P and other required documentation is present and communicates any issues to OR staff and physician office staff.
Provides information from data and testing collected to the LIP responsible for the surgical process.
Provides information and communication to the surgical staff and the physician office staff to assure that surgery is completed as scheduled.
Provide support to ACS, Pre-Op Holding & PACU as needed.
What qualifications you will need: RN BSN Preferred 2 years acute care BLS within 3 months of hire/transfer Basic Arrhythmia to be completed within 6 months of hire for RN staff who are unable to demonstrate competency upon hire or have ACLS certification at the time of hire.
* ACLS within 6 months of hire for RNs who transfer or hold current acute care experience.
* ACLS within 12 months for a New Graduate RN or RNs without prior acute care experience.
* *During this time the nurse will work under the direct supervision of an RN who has satisfactorily completed basic arrhythmia competency and ACLS certification.
If the new employee fails to complete the above items in the established timeframe, the nurse lacking successful completion of the competency/certification will continue to work under the direct supervision of another RN as previously described.
This practice will continue until the new employee satisfactorily completes the basic arrhythmia competency and has obtained ACLS certification.
