*Position: *Caregiver *Department: *Head Start *Duration: *Fulltime – 12 Months *Pay Grade: *H3 Non-Exempt *Supervised By: *Education Manager *Supervises: *No One I.
*OBJECTIVE:* Creates and manages an attractive, warm and challenging learning environment for infants and toddlers, incorporating appropriate early intervention, learning and care activities which meet the needs of the group as well as those of individual children and families.
II.
*RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:* A.
Active nurturing supervision of children in the classroom.
1.
Utilize curriculum to fidelity to teach children and keep them actively entertained.

Curriculum Implementation b.
Teacher Practices - Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) - Fidelity Tool c.
Learning Platform - Infant Toddler Environmental Rating Scale (ITERS) 2.
Ability to input accurate data.
a.
Ages & Stages Social Emotion & Developmental (ASQ’s) b.
Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) - Lesson Plans, Observations, Child Developmental Profiles, etc.
c.
Utilize program and agency data management systems - Attendance, Meals, Contacts, Daily Health Checks, etc.
B.
Must be able to work closely together with other classroom staff to provide direct supervision of children.

Manage schedules amongst one another to ensure coverage b.
Supporting knowledge of Early Learning Outcomes Frameworks, School Readiness Goals, Program Goals/Policies C.
Performing duties requested by Supervisor, Head Start Director, COO, and CEO.
III.

Ability to manage time, energy and workspace well in order to accomplish all assigned tasks successfully.
D.
Reporting 1.
Ability to complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.

Daily – Attendance, Meals, Observations, etc.

Weekly – Lesson Plans c.
Biweekly - Timesheets d.
Monthly – Meal Reports e.
Quarterly – Conference Forms, Staffing f.
Yearly – 2x per year – CLASS E.
Health and Safety 1.
Ability to squat, sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, hear, see, speak, and lift and/or carry at least 40lbs.
2.
Knowingness of possibility to exposure of blood, bodily fluids, or tissues 3.
Knowingness of possibility to exposure of communicable diseases F.
Technology 1.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.
) proficient.
2.
Willingness to train in program and agency data management systems G.
Professionalism 1.
Ability to casually present oneself.
2.
Accountability – Timely, Attendance 3.
Team Oriented 4.
Possess problem solving skills.
5.
Continue to expand knowledge by attending trainings, etc.
IV.
*EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:* A.
45 CFR §1302.
91(e)(1) “As prescribed in section 645A(h) of the Act, a program must ensure center-based teachers that provide direct services to infants and toddlers…have: A minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA)…or comparable credential\*\*; and been trained or have equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development.
B.
Willingness to complete/continue trainings/certifications - Any other trainings/certifications deemed necessary.
Must maintain certain certifications.
V.
*ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:* Comply with all background checks required by the program.
