I.
*OBJECTIVE:*
Creates and manages an attractive, warm and challenging learning environment for infants and toddlers, incorporating appropriate early intervention, learning and care activities which meet the needs of the group as well as those of individual children and families.
II.
*RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:*
A.
Active nurturing supervision of children in the classroom.
1.
Utilize curriculum to fidelity to teach children and keep them actively entertained.

B.
Must be able to work closely together with other classroom staff to provide direct supervision of children.

Manage schedules amongst one another to ensure coverage

Supporting knowledge of Early Learning Outcomes Frameworks, School Readiness Goals, Program Goals/Policies
C.
Performing duties requested by Supervisor, Head Start Director, COO, and CEO.

*EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:*
A.
45 CFR §1302.
91(e)(1) “As prescribed in section 645A(h) of the Act, a program must ensure center-based
teachers that provide direct services to infants and toddlers…have: A minimum of a Child Development
Associate (CDA)…or comparable credential\*\*; and been trained or have equivalent coursework in early
childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development.
B.
Willingness to complete/continue trainings/certifications
- Any other trainings/certifications deemed necessary.
Must maintain certain certifications.
V.
*ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:*
Comply with all background checks required by the program.
Valid Virginia Driver’s Licenses may be required
